Description:
Critical Software, a software engineering company with a strong presence in the international markets and high growth profile looks for a software engineer to be responsible for the Operation and Evolution of a Data Grid Infrastructure. The job is integrated in a team working in the Earth Observation and Information System domain. She/He must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
The candidate is expected to maintain the applications and systems, whilst aiding / performing integration of new applications into the existing environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Engineering academic degree or relevant professional experience;
* Good technology skills across application software, operating systems and programming.
* Must have advanced Linux/Unix skills including shell scripting and testing, and maintenance of middleware applications and software.
* Must have good documentation skills and master of the English language.
* Must have experience in GRID technology.
* Must have knowledge in Web Technologies (ASP, Jscript, WebServices)
* Desirable to have Earth Observation domain experience, particularly of data applications and services.
* Desirable to have ability to generate clear, concise high level performance reports and figures (as part of the maintenance).
* Desirable to have programming experience (C/C++, and Java).
* Desirable to understand networking concepts.
